Today, a boy in my class told me I was a “‘hood rat” because I referenced an Eminem song in class. I guess that means I have street cred these days.
Then, we wrote descriptive sentences, and a boy said that a crowd of people would smell like a rotten old pair of socks.
It wasn’t a day in a room full of elementary school kids, but today, I felt like the kids were entertaining and hilarious.
I still miss hearing little kids telling all they know—but, I will try to find joy where I am.
